“Why do I enjoy living in Oakbank?”
My family have been Springfield residents since 2016 and we can honestly say, we wouldn’t choose to live anywhere else.
In the beginning the commute from the city was something that had us slightly apprehensive, but after driving out here a few times to consider different houses it seemed to get shorter every time. Now, the 10 minute drive to the perimeter flies by.
We enjoy the honest sense of community, Oakbank (and the rest of the RM) is full of generous, caring and fun people. We’ve made amazing friends, we’re surrounded by great neighbours and more than once we’ve witnessed the community come together to help others, forge ahead for needed amenities and pull off great events.
The RM’s annual event, Chicken Daze is a must attend. It’s great because it offers something for everyone! Rides and entertainment for the kids all day followed by live bands, food trucks and beer gardens in the evenings for the adults. Hosted annually near the beginning of June it’s a weekend of fun that the WHOLE community gets into.
